Yesterday I was getting ready to take a shower so I put Noah in "jail" (his Baby Einstein activity saucer). He started crying because he didn't walk to be "locked up". I remembered my brush was in the living room so I left him for a moment. About 30 seconds after I left the room he stopped crying. I walked back into the bedroom, and I was greeted by him crawling towards me. Somehow he managed to pull himself out of his activity saucer and gracefully land on the floor. The saucer was still upright! Apparently we'll need to modify his "jail".

Ice Skating
We went to visit some friends in Sonoma County this week. While we were visiting, we took the kids ice skating. It was Zoe's first time on the ice. It took us a VERY long time to make it around the rink, but we had a lot of fun. We never did fall, but as you can see from Zoe's face there were a couple of close calls. Noah enjoyed himself too. He was the perfect size to watch everyone through the glass around the ice skating rink.

Standing?
Noah has been pulling himself up to his knees for a couple of weeks now. As of yesterday, he has figured out how to pull himself up to a standing position. This morning I found him standing next to an end table in our living room. He was barely hanging on because he was busy trying to drink orange juice from Zoe's cup. This afternoon, I found him standing in my kitchen with one of the top drawers open. He stood there laughing while he pulled stuff out and threw it on the floor. It looks like nothing's safe anymore:0)

The Snow Fort
Well, I have had 3 snow days this week. It looks like my school year just got a little bit longer. For the first couple days, we were able to get in and out. The snow was really only just at our house and a couple miles towards town. Once the elevation dropped to about 1,800 feet the snow stopped. Last night, the snow elevation dropped to around 1,000 feet and we are up to about a foot of snow. The snow plow keeps going by our house, but the road seems to fill up with snow as quickly as it's plowed away. Looks like we'll be staying home for a few days. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until tomorrow afternoon. There is a possibility of another foot of snow. As you can see from the photos, Steve and Zoe have been keeping themselves busy by building a snow fort.

10 Months!
Yesterday Noah turned 10 months old. Steve and I can hardly believe that he is almost a year old. We were comparing these photos and noticing how much Noah has changed over the past few months. The top picture was taken just a couple of days ago and the bottom picture was taken in August. It's amazing how quickly time seems to pass!

Let's Make A Pizza!
Steve made some awesome pizza dough the other night and Zoe asked if he would save some dough for her. For lunch yesterday, Zoe whipped up a great little cheese pizza. I wish I would have taken a picture of the final product. It looked amazing! She ended up eating all 6 pieces by herself!

Karate Kid
The other night Zoe decided that she wanted to do karate. She begged me to let her do some karate after her bath before she went to bed. I was curious so I said that she could. After she got ready for bed, she started laying out a towel (she informed me it was her karate mat). Then she asked me to tie several of her blankets onto her body. One blanket was for her karate hat. One she wore as her karate skirt. I honestly I don't remember what the one around her neck was for, but it definitely had a purpose. After she was garbed in her gear she stated doing "karate moves". Steve and I couldn't stop laughing. I don't know where she comes up with this stuff, but it sure keeps us entertained!
