UFO Festival

Last weekend we decided to take a drive to Bridgeville. For those of you who have been to our house, and think it's in the middle of nowhere, you have never been to Bridgeville! It is about 30 miles from our house and the drive took about 1 1/2 hours. We saw lots of animals along the way...including an entire herd of cattle that blocked the road and the one lane bridge. Thankfully at the end of the cattle were some ranchers who were able to get the cattle out of our way. We ultimately drove to Bridgeville to experience their UFO festival. It was pretty small yet VERY entertaining!

Chef Zoe

Zoe was helping Steve cook dinner the other night. One of her jobs was preparing the salad. She got use a "real" knife for the first time. Check out her determination!

Recent Projects

This summer my goal was to accomplish some crafty projects while I had a little extra time. I've managed to finish a few different things. These photos are of two of the latest projects.

Skirt Made from coordinating fabric quarters
Zoe showing off her new skirt
I was inspired to make this purse for a couple reasons
1. I saw a similar purse at Anthropologie for almost $300!!!
2. I found a great tutorial online
Instead of $298 it cost $3.00 to make

All Grown Up!

My baby is all grown up...or at least that's the way it feels. Today Zoe had her first soccer practice. She is the youngest on her team, but the fact is she is old enough to be on a soccer team! We also "upgraded" her bedroom. We moved the play kitchen into Noah's room and added a "craft area" to her room (photos to come shortly). When you walk into her room it just feels like a "big kid" room. She also had me put a poster up on her wall (a poster that she picked out)...which really made me realize how big she's getting!

A Day in the Spotlight

So today is Noah's day. I'm writing a post specifically about him. My poor second child...the posts just about him are few and far between. Yesterday Noah had his well baby check up. He turned 16 months last week. He weighs 26.5 lbs (67th percentile). He is 33 inches tall (87th percentile) AND his head is 48 cm (75th percentile) If you can believe it his head is actually larger than Zoe's was at this age. Noah now has 16 teeth! Now that numbers 15 & 16 are just barely poking through he is a much happier child. Getting 8 teeth in 4 weeks made for a GRUMPY Noah! During the teething bout he also had Roseola for a week (or some kind of similar virus).
Noah seems to be saying and repeating many words. The ones he says frequently are: toe, apple, ball, doggie, eye, what's that, cup, bite, mine, Mommy, Mama, Daddy, Dada, Zaza (meaning Zoe), Granny (sounds like Dranny), Baba, Bobble (for bottle), cow, moo, horsie, hi, bye, mmm (when some is yummy), snack, bar, some, up (although the /p/ sound is often left off), cheese (when you take his picture or if he sees a camera), crackie (which is what he calls a cracker), and we're still not certain but when he cries and he's upset we think he says "I sad".
His continues to climb everything and get himself into precarious situations. If he doesn't end up with a broken bone or stitches during his childhood I'll be shocked. Just this past week he gave himself a black eye, a scratch on his face, a big scratch on his knee and bloody teeth twice!

Camping Highlights

Fishing with Daddy
Playing on the swings at the playground
Loving the sand
Boat riding with Uncle Peter and Joee
Going for a swim
Now that's a lot of dirt
Good Morning Daddy

This past week we met up with my sister in Oregon and went camping. We camped at William Tugman State Park on the Southern Oregon coast. We all had a blast!

Visiting Paul and Babe

One of our family's favorite stops is at the Trees of Mystery in Klamath, CA to visit Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. It's always a highlight when Paul talks and waves to the kiddos.

Just Because...

Noah is at that age where it's pretty much impossible to get him to stand still to capture a good photo. So I didn't want to leave him out...this is pretty much the only picture I have of Noah during our trip to Fresno.

GOOOAAAALLLLL!!!

Water Play

Doesn't everyone play in the fountain while visiting the mall?

This week we took a trip to visit Baba and Papa in Fresno. While visiting, the kidlets got to do lots of fun things...swimming, shopping, playing at the park, Build A Bear Workshop...and more. Zoe is now the proud owner of Lulu the Rainbow Bear!
