Argh Matey!

Today is Steve's birthday. Zoe insisted we get party favors for Daddy's special day. She chose pirate party favors (she didn't even know they were the only party favors that were 75% off) We all wore pirate patches and played "hide the gold". I'm sure it's just how Steve planned to spend his 35th birthday!

Garage Sales Rock!

Zoe has a bike that was passed on to her last year. She loves it, but she really is too small for it. She will never be able to learn how to ride a bike without training wheels on it because she can't touch ground (even with the seat as low as it will go) We've been wanting to get her a smaller bike, but we refuse to pay full price. This past weekend we found the perfect bike at a yard sale. It's in GREAT condition, and after looking at the price on line it seems we got a great deal. (looks like we saved at least $50) We went bike riding at my school the other day. As you can see from the photos she had a great time...most of the time. The crying photo was soon after she launched herself over the handle bars (she's still trying to learn how to use the brakes instead of panicking)

Budding Artist?

I have to take a moment and do a bit of bragging. Yesterday Zoe decided that she wanted to draw a picture of SpongeBob Square Pants. Typically her drawings are somewhat unrecognizable. I was pretty impressed with this picture. I thought she did a good job making her drawing look like SpongeBob. I was also impressed with her handwriting at the top. (If you look closely you'll notice she wrote SpongeBob)

Swim Lessons

Zoe has started taking private swim lessons. The lessons were an early birthday present from Granny. Zoe loves the water and LOVES the special one on one attention. She is doing really well with her lessons so far. She can briefly swim by herself, and literally with just one finger on her bathing suit she can swim like a fish. According to her teacher she is ready to swim by herself all the time. She is learning how to "flutter kick" and "frog kick". Her favorite is jumping from the side of the pool.

Hummus Face

I think Noah could eat us out of house and home. He is SUCH a BIG eater! You would think he would be the chubbiest baby ever, but he's just not. He doesn't seem to be able to keep any pants on. He literally crawls out of them. He is a long and lean machine. And as you can see from the photos he certainly loves Daddy's hummus!

My Little Monster!

It's amazing that someone SO small can make SUCH a MESS! Here is a classic Noah moment. Zoe and I were making a cake yesterday so Noah was hanging out in the kitchen with us. He managed to empty several drawers and a couple of cupboards in just a few minutes. Then (as you can see from the photos) he moved on to peek-a-boo with a bowl.
